When you're working on a roof or clearing brush, the "Big Three" sports drinks are convenient, but they often prioritize sugar over pure electrolyte power.
SkyMD strikes a balance by providing a much higher electrolyte dose (especially sodium and magnesium) with about 85% less sugar than a standard Gatorade.

Here is the data comparison between SkyMD Hydration Multiplier, the top three traditional sports drinks, and the top three leading hydration mixes.
Hydration Comparison Table
Note: All data is normalized to a standard 12 oz serving for ready-to-drink options or one stick/tablet for mixes.
Product | Type | Total Electrolytes | Sodium | Potassium | Magnesium | Sugar |
Mix | 1,316 mg | 550 mg | 150 mg | 65 mg | 3 g | |
Gatorade | Drink | 210 mg | 160 mg | 50 mg | 0 mg | 21 g |
BodyArmor Lyte | Drink | 990 mg | 30 mg | 680 mg | 75 mg | 2 g |
Powerade | Drink | 320 mg | 240 mg | 80 mg | <1 mg | 21 g |
Liquid I.V. | Mix | 890 mg | 520 mg | 370 mg | 0 mg | 11 g |
LMNT | Mix | 1,260 mg | 1,000 mg | 200 mg | 60 mg | 0 g |
Nuun Sport | Tablet | 488 mg | 300 mg | 150 mg | 25 mg | 1 g |
The "Dad" Takeaway
The Heavy Sweaters (SkyMD & LMNT): If you are doing extreme labor (roofing, chainsawing), you need the higher Sodium count. SkyMD is the "Goldilocks" here—it has the salt you need without the extreme 1,000mg punch of LMNT which some find unpalatable.
The Sugar Trap: Standard Gatorade and Powerade have 7x more sugar than SkyMD. That's fine if you're running a marathon, but for a 4-hour yard project, it often leads to a mid-afternoon crash.
The Potassium King: BodyArmor Lyte is great if you need potassium, but it is very low in sodium, which is the main electrolyte you lose in sweat.
